Expand your creative horizons in this intensive on physical/spatial storytelling, emotional risk/trust, and blending improv with other art forms. The class will then use these skills to develop its own form for class performances. NKP’s Advanced Improv classes are for students looking for a serious commitment to hone their craft. These classes are in-depth study to develop improv skills and consistency as an on-stage performer. Advanced Improv will change topics every cycle and includes 3 performances. Enrollment is by instructor approval. Applicants must have completed L3: Improv Performance. Approval is based on instructor feedback from all previous core curriculum classes. INSTRUCTORS - Prescott Gaylord and Jon Cancio Prescott Gaylord has 20+ years of experience in improv performance and Applied Theatre training across the globe. He has trained executives from LinkedIn, PayPal, DBS and more to think on their feet, speak with presence, and stay grounded under pressure. Former Artistic Director of Baltimore Improv Group, Prescott blends movement, theatre, and humour into a training style that’s disarming, practical — and fun. Jon Cancio is a performer with over a decade of experience on stage and screen. As an improv coach, he focuses on creativity, playfulness, and teamwork. On stage, Jon has appeared with Singapore Repertory Theatre, How Drama, Toy Factory, and Sightlines. His screen credits include The Benzi Project, Uncanny Valley, Girl Band Called Girl Band, numerous commercials, and the feature film Sandbox.
