Private beaches. Rooms over the water. Delicious food. We will learn something new, jam with friends, and let time slow down at the wonderful Telunas Beach Resort.

Singapore is home to a growing improv scene. But our lives in the city are fast. Everyday commitments don’t always allow us to see each other perform or get to know other improvisers outside our teams/classes. This retreat is meant to be half improv, half holiday. We'll practice our art, grow in community, and have fun!

There will be 14 seats for this retreat. Instructor(s) to be announced and tickets to go on sale by 1 September.

Workshop Instructor - Van Tran (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)

Van discovered improv in New York City, where a spontaneous decision to take a class at UCB and Magnet Theatre quickly turned into a lifelong passion. Inspired by the creativity, collaboration, and joy of the art form, she returned to Vietnam to found Saigon Improv House - a community dedicated to helping people connect, grow, and create through improvisation.

Since then, she's produced everything from two-person duo shows to movement improv and full comedy productions, and performed at festivals across Hanoi, Manila, Canberra, Singapore, and Saigon.

Off stage, Van is dedicated to helping others discover their own color through improv. Her classes are known for being structured, supportive, and full of genuine laughter - hers usually the loudest in the room.

She believes a good teacher never stops being a student, because that's the only way to stay honest about how hard (and how fun) it is to trust the unknown. She appreciates every chance to share the studio or the stage with fellow improvisers, and truly believes everyone has something unique to offer.
