A Workshop on Learning to Play Together - For Real

This fun workshop helps parents and children rediscover the power of shared imagination. Seasoned comedian (and un-seasoned dad) Luke Yu will lead age-appropriate improv and theatre games that spark creativity, laughter, and deeper connection.

The Improv Playdate isn’t just about having fun (though there’s plenty of that!). It’s about learning how to really listen to your child and showing them their ideas are valued. When you share play equally, your child feels seen, heard, and empowered. That’s when real growth and bonding happens.

About Luke Yu

Luke Yu is an American improv comedian based in Singapore, trained at Upright Citizens Brigade NYC. He’s taught and performed across Asia, and led workshops for GovTech, Blue House International, and more. As a father of two, he brings humor, heart, and hands-on parenting experience to every session. He is producer for improv comedy team New Kitten Party and CEO of Luke Yu Comedy Pte. Ltd.

About KidzTropic

Founded in 2023, Kidztropic is a group of indoor play spaces made for kids up to 6 years old located at Poiz Centre and Furama Riverfront Hotel. Specialising in safe, calm and comfortable indoor environments for kids to engage in educational play; inclusive for multi-generational caregivers to relax and bond with family.

7 parent-child pairs maximum. Tickets are non-refundable but transferable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a drop-off session?

No. This is a parent-accompanied session focusing on parents and children playing together.

Can I bring more than 1 child?

We ask that you keep this a one-on-one playdate. That will give everyone time and space to take turns and focus on their partner.

How about other adults?

Additional adults are welcome to join for the free play segment in the 2nd half of the playdate. Additional charge payable to Kidztropic Cove at their standard rate for additional adults ($7).

What if my child is outside the age range?

This session is designed for children ages 4-6, and the experience will be tailored accordingly. We hope to plan future sessions for other ages!

Can my child use Waka Waka during the free play?

Access to Waka Waka safari indoor playground is available for a $13 top-up charge (payable to Kidztropic Cove during the session). Come and go between Kidztropic Cove and Waka Waka during your play session.

Are socks required?

Yes - grip socks required for children, regular socks for adults
